Kimi Woolsey - A Stroke Warrior's Story

After suffering a massive stroke, Kimi Woolsey had brain surgery at Renown Regional’s Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center.

Kimi shares her progress at Renown Rehabilitation Hospital and her continuing recovery through outpatient therapy.
She emotionally recalls how she got out of bed for the first time and how supported she felt during her time physically recovering from the stroke. “I can't emphasize enough that I truly felt loved and I still feel loved and appreciated and they're rooting for me still,” she shares.
Kimi proudly calls herself a stroke warrior, intentionally deciding not to see herself as a victim. Today she connects with other stroke survivors through her Facebook page to help motivate and inspire them. She genuinely appreciates her family and life more looking to the future with excitement.
