Perispinal etanercept (PSE) is an innovative treatment that has shown promise in improving mobility and independence for stroke patients.
It works by reducing inflammation and microglial activation in the brain, which can be triggered by stroke and contribute to neurological deficits and pain.
While not yet FDA-approved for stroke recovery, PSE has been used off-label to treat post-stroke pain, spasticity, and other neurological impairments.
